Dezeen promotion: furniture company Boffi De Padova has opened a new showroom in Chelsea, London.
Overlooking Sloane Square, the showroom was envisioned in line with the art direction of Piero Lissoni and designed by the Boffi De Padova creative division helmed by Chiara Tombari.
The 900-square-metre space spans three floors and is dominated by a sculptural helical staircase that twists up through the showroom.
Sheet metal covers the staircase, underscoring the industrial aesthetic of the retail space, which features anthracite-grey walls and expansive windows.
Arranged as a contemporary living space, the Boffi De Padova Chelsea showroom presents room partition systems, furniture and lighting from the Boffi and De Padova brands.
Designs from Boffi De Padova brands like ADL and MA/U Studio are on display, along with the Time & Style edition collection and the Horizontal Sofa edition.
“This is an extraordinary loft that further enhances our complete proposal of interiors,” said Boffi De Padova CEO Roberto Gavazzi.
“Boffi De Padova Chelsea perfectly mirrors the design concept we want to convey.”
Boffi, which acquired Italian furniture makers De Padova in 2015, has long been associated with London.
The high-end kitchens and bathroom design brand opened its first showroom in the city on Brompton Road 15 years ago. Boffi opened its Wigmore showroom in London’s West End in 2011. Now Boffi De Padova has its own dedicated presence in Chelsea.
“The importance of London in the design panorama has encouraged the expansion of our space in one of the prime neighbourhoods of the city,” said Gavazzi.
Boffi opened its New York showroom in the city’s Soho district in 2018, occupying the third floor of a historic building on the corner of Greene Street.
